A new journey to a new me.....

Today I made the decision to join Weight Watchers. I am a pretty healthy eating individual, but I must admit that I don't always eat enough. Since I have a number of points to meet this is the way that I can ensure that I am eating the right amount of foods needed for the day.  I am very confident that this was the right decision because just as I provide support to others I know I need it too from others that have the same goal as myself. Not to mention that I can access the website and track everything using my Sprint Epic phone. Yay!!!!

Now besides my weigh-in next week I have 3 doctor appointments, and one is my favorite. Yay!!!! I have my Cardiologist appointment on Wednesday and I get to see if my heart has finally made some progress and hit the 55-60% Ejection Fraction mark.  I have been treating my body good and praying so I hope that some progress is show. My first experience with PPCM I recovered within months, but this time I can't say the same. It has been over a year, but I know the time will come when my heart will be normal again and I hope that time is Wednesday. LOL!!! Seriously, I am so ready to get off of all this medication because it is playing a huge part in my non-weight loss. LBVS! I am going to cancel or reschedule my primary doctor til after I see my OB-GYN. I have been experiencing a nagging pain in my lower left abdominal and really need an answer to what's the cause. Hopefully nothing serious, but I just need to know because whatever it is it's affecting my flow of nature. I did have my tubes tied and burnt after giving birth in 2009 so I hope they are not in there doing any remodeling. Well, I can go all night, but I won't so I will live you with an inspiration quote and wish everyone a wonderful weekend and upcoming week.

"Look to your health; and if you have it, praise God, and value it next to a good conscience; for health is the second blessing that we mortals are capable of; a blessing that money cannot buy."

We did it!!!

We did it! We made it to Friday. I want you to take a moment to reflect on the events that occurred this week at home, work, school, and etc. My week begin slightly rocky since I was getting over being sick and taking care of the kids oh and working, but now I look back and see that I had a really good week no matter how many bumps I had to get over. Just remember that your thoughts become your actions so if you think positive then positive will happen. No plans, but I am going to have a Wonderful Weekend!!!! Hopefully, yours will be as good as mine.

It's a New Year!!!!

Happy New Year!!!! Although any day alive is the best day of the year I would  have rather spent the night with my friends, but because of this virus I stayed home watching "Watch what happens next" on Bravo. I was hoping to feel much better today, but I am still dealing with a fever, headache, chills, and allergies getting the best of me. Nothing natural seems to work, and when your on beta blockers or ace inhibitors you have to be careful about other medications that may affect you. The one med that I know may have helped makes you feel really doped up and thats a feeling that I rather do without. Top make things more eventful as I am relaxing playing Zuma Blitz I can start to feel my heart beating out of tune. My husband handed me my heart monitor and hmmmmm....My bp was 99/56 with a pulse of 103. Not to mention that the abnormal heartbeat sensor was flashing. I won't jump just yet because I am dealing with a fever of 102, so I will continue to monitor and if it gets in the 120's while resting then the pill I shall pop. Until then, I am going to reach into the back of my mind and relax on the porch as I watch the fields of white snow and trees without leaves....Goodnight World, and many Blessings to you all!!!!

Sick is no fun

So for the past few days I have been waking up with headaches that went away after taking Tylenol. Yesterday I was struck by a fever truck while at work. The best way to describe my body temp was bi-polar. LOL!!! I keep checking my blood pressure and it stayed under control, but my heart rate was a bit high like 108. Yeah not good, so I went to my moms place before picking  up the kids to take a much needed nap thinking I would feel better and my HR would go down. The nap did help a little, but my HR continued to climb, and I was starting to feel as if my rhythms were becoming abnormal which is not cool since I have been doing so good for so many months. My HR increased to 128 so I called my Cardiologist answering service, and 5 mins later Dr. Yaqoob returned my call. I let him know that I was exposed to someone with a virus and my have picked it up, then I continued by providing him with my BP readings for the day and my actions before each reading. His provided me with a plan of action which was to take half of my heart med Carvedilol, and rest. If my heart rate were to remain elevated then take the other half, and if after that it remains in the 120's then the ER would have had an additional patient for the evening. Well, thank goodness after the 1st  half and some rest my heart rate dropped back down to 76. I was so happy that I feel asleep watching tv and playing bejeweled blitz on Facebook. So with all that said if you have any know health problems, and you feel ill keep a log of how you felt and at what time. Contact your doctor unless it's an emergency, provide them with your info, and they can assist you and provide a plan of action over the phone. It's not always necessary to run to the emergency room!!!!

P.S....if possible stay away from sick children & adults especially if they have a virus.

So last night I read this story http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/metro/facebook-story-mothers-joy-familys-sorrow.html and was brought to some serious tears. As I was reading it I realized how much this lady and I had in common being that we told all of FB about our every move. LOL!!!! I have been doing well for the most part, but as the cold weather rolls in I realize how my heart reacts to it and have to remain warm. If not I have a short moment of palpitations. That's my signal to warm up!!!!! I have been doing so well which  has contributed to the lack of me blogging as much as I used to. I apologize, and I am committing myself to blog here more often. It shouldn't take a sad story or me not feeling well to do so. At my last appointment my EF was 50% so I can't wait to see if I have increased to the 55-60% range at my next appointment which is the end of January. Remember to always live, love, and laugh.....It is the medicine to the soul!!!!!

To much time

Wow, I was just thinking that it has been too much time since my last post. I feel alot better these days with the exception of this torching Florida heat. Heat + extended outdoor time + Dolicia = Dolicia feeling pretty light on her feet and not to good. Other than that I feel great! I literally can't remember the last time I had palpatations...Ok, well maybe I can, but it has been awhile. LOL! My next followup Cardiologist appointment is September 6th so I will let you guys know how things go from there. I am in the process of trying to lose alot of weight, so I am doing Atkins and Pilates and I love it. Next time this year I would love to see 130 on the scale, and when I do I will share with you all my starting weight. LOL! I also picked up a craft of making bows for my baby girl, but I don't want to stop there. There are many things that I want to accomplish this year with my life, career, and family.
